The ribbon-shaped blades are usually made into double layers. During operation, the outer ribbon conveys material towards the discharge, while the inner ribbon transports material away from the discharge, forming convective mixing. The agitator is the most important component of the mixer, and is also optional in paddle blades, and choppers can be added to adapt to different materials.
